Ablauf der Verkostung

Die Verkostung dauert ca. 1 Stunde und beinhaltet:

eine kurze Einführung in die Geschichte und Entwicklung lettischer Spirituosen,
eine geführte Präsentation von 6 verschiedenen in Lettland hergestellten Getränken,
Informationen zu Herkunft, Herstellung und Geschmacksprofilen,
Verkostung von 20–50 ml Probiermengen.

Die Auswahl umfasst:

lettischen Traubenwein,
Liköre und angesetzte Spirituosen,
Gin,
Rum.

Teilnahmegebühr

Die Teilnahmegebühr beträgt 4–6 EUR pro Person, abhängig von der Gruppengröße.
Nach der Verkostung erhalten die Teilnehmer Sonderpreise im Geschäft.

Dvoretsky Plum Tincture is a craft plum-based spirit produced by Dvoretsky Distillery, a Latvian family-run craft distillery known for its high-quality, naturally crafted alcoholic beverages. The distillery combines traditional distillation techniques with modern technology, using the best fruits and pure ingredients to create authentic and flavorful spirits.

This plum tincture is typically made from carefully selected plums and distilled to capture the rich aroma and characteristic fruit intensity of ripe plums. Plum tinctures and plum spirits are part of a long tradition across Europe, where fruit is fermented and distilled to produce a spirit that highlights the essence of the fruit itself.

Dvoretsky’s interpretation delivers a balanced plum profile — showing fruity depth and smoothness — making it enjoyable neat or as a distinctive ingredient in cocktails. BIRZĪ Birch Sap Distillate is a unique craft spirit from Latvia, made primarily from distilled birch sap, combined with birch sap syrup, fresh birch sap, and natural aromatic ingredients. Produced in small batches (approximately 1,000 bottles per year) by the Birzī brand in Smiltene, this artisanal spirit highlights the purity, freshness, and subtle sweetness of birch, creating a warm and distinctive flavor profile.

With an alcohol content of around 40%, BIRZĪ Birch Sap Distillate can be enjoyed neat as a digestif, or as a flavorful component in craft and rustic-style cocktails. Its natural, slightly sweet, earthy, and aromatic character makes it a truly exclusive and premium Latvian spirit.

Today, we invite you to discover two special producers: Tēviņkalns and Līgatne Wine Cellar, whose grape wines are now available for purchase at our store in Riga city centre.

Tēviņkalns Grape Wines – Small-Batch from Zemīte, Tukums Region

Tēviņkalns is a family-run winery located in Zemīte parish, near Tukums. While they are known for their handcrafted fruit and berry wines, they also produce limited-edition white and red grape wines, grown in Latvia’s cool climate.

Grapes are hand-harvested and fermented with natural yeasts.
The result is a fresh, mineral-rich wine with character and depth.
Each bottle reflects their commitment to quality, sustainability and local identity.

Tēviņkalns wines are rarely available in shops – that’s why we are excited to offer them at Kolekcija Dzērieni, exclusively in Riga.

Līgatne Wine Cellar – Wild Elegance from the Gauja National Park

Located in the heart of the Gauja National Park, Līgatne Wine Cellar is famous for its charming underground sandstone cave tasting room and its wide variety of locally made wines.

Their grape wines are crafted using traditional methods, fermented naturally and aged for up to 12 months.
Grapes and berries come from clean, wild surroundings, giving the wines a unique flavour profile.
Līgatne also produces blackcurrant, raspberry, rhubarb and cloudberry wines — all with minimal intervention and a story behind each sip.
